Slav snaps back at Staam’s Oxford fitness claim

Oxford-604905Slaven Bilic has given Jaap Stam the perfect answer to his claim that Reece Oxford was “surprised at the intensity of training at Reading”  – a suggestion that it isn’t at Rush Green and Chadwell Heath.

Stam made his claim in a press conference saying: “Reece Oxford has been surprised at the level of intensity in training at Reading, compared to that at West Ham.

“Young players need to improve. You need to be on top of them and give them good advice, so that’s why training is intense.”

However Bilic snapped back with the perfect response in his pre-Leicester City presser declaring: “West Ham train as hard as any other club. We are training very intensely.

“Maybe with Reece and his change of club they train differently, but the only thing I think is that Reece wasn’t fit enough.

“He signed for Reading after a long injury to his ankle so maybe in the beginning he wasn’t in the best shape. That was ages ago though, he will have had enough time to get ready.”
