So close Irons but too little too late

Too little too late but you have to feel proud of them.

Let’s get real – you can’t start playing 12 minutes from the end after going two down and expect to get the result although it so nearly nearly happened.

James Tomkins scored with one of the bravest low headers you will ever see after a Payet corner was headed back in by aerial bomber Andy Carroll.

It was a collector’s item to place alongside a terrific defensive performance from the fella.

And then we laid siege to their goal and but for an amazing double save from De Gea and a final Kouyate header  was ruled out for offside, we’d be in extra time now.

Emineke had blasted over, Andy Carroll too and in the end we were in despair – just unable to claw back a two goal lead provided by a sensational Rashford curled effort and a Fellaini clincher.

Before that pulsating climax – or should it be anti climax – we had been second best, standing off United, allowing them too much space and simply letting them play.

The defending was sloppy particularly for the second goal whilst Antonio paid a heavy price when losing possession for the move that finished with Rashford’s strike.

We had started brightly enough but once the early fizz had left the bottle after 20 minutes the visitors took control and Slaven Bilic’s pre-match warning that van Gaal always seems to get a result when he needs it most took shape.

This had never been in the script – a defeat on our last ever Cup tie under the Boleyn lights but the FA Cup competition has no respect of scripts and we swallow it just like us London boys always do.

We move on and I wouldn’t want to be where Leicester are sitting at the weekend – we’re hurting.

I ain’t kidding you here but I honestly believe some of them think they could do a better job than Premiership managers.Straight up,they really do think they know better.Bunch of numbnuts. All this telling Slav who he selected wrong or where he got it tactically wrong. They are a troupe of clowns.

  • StanThe Man says:

That’s the one RickHammer. The one where they tell Slav who he picked wrong, tell him his tactics were wrong & they could all have done better.C***ts.

  • RickHammer says:

Oh **** me I used to use that blog but jacked it in.Got ya now.Yeah it is the one with all the kingpins of football knowledge on it.Forgot about that place as it works.Clearly ain’t go no better then.

West Ham Til I Die.It is only a fun name, well apart from Match days when every keyboard manager & expert descends on the match thread, lol

  • RickHammer says:

What site is Wetpants? I guess it is a nickname for one?

  • mattefumi27 says:

ahah… I know from reliable sources that Slav always reads their comments before every single game… they are his source of inspiration… but unfortunately he had not been able to do so tonight… problems with his network connection, that’s why we lost… lol 😀

  • RickHammer says:

Don’t have a clue what you guys are talking about but I assume it is a fans site.Well if that’s the case they are bang, bang out of order. Our players have given so much this season to make it a memorable one for many reasons.I would suggest these so called fans jog on & support another club.

  • Gobby says:

Well after tonight i totally get why you call it that.I thought you were being harsh before. Now I totally, totally understand lol
Appears according to one gentleman that Bilic let us down tonight lol Sack in the morning for Slaven he is useless.Ffs you couldn’t make it up.

  • Billy the Hammer says:

Well a vast majority of them are certainly delivering when it comes to their name Wetpants..If I was Bilic & the players & I read some of the comments I would ask for a transfer, lol

  • West Ham Exile says:

There will be less of them on Wetpants next season, most will be managing in the PL.Their applications are already written 😀

  • Gobby says:

Lol,you ain’t kidding matte. They certainly think they know more than Slav.Embarrassing fans with some of their comments tonight.

  • mattefumi27 says:

Yes, it’s a pity… but thanks for trying guys, next year will be even better, I’m sure about that… However, in order to meet this challenge, I think you should listen Wetpants and their wise advice… they are all little Ferguson …lol 😉

  • Gobby says:

Maybe they would like Sam back, lol

  • Gobby says:

It has been a great season to be a fan Billy, too true when you think of some of the results we have had.First home defeat since August.Had to be a biggie but it shows how well we have done. Will never be enough for the moaners though.

  • West Ham Exile says:

All think they can manage better than Bilic, all think they can play better than Premier League players, all think they can out tactic Van Gaal. All a bunch of ****s.We came up short tonight, very disappointing but it ain’t no reason to start ragging the players & Bilic. As Hippo said,we got some delusional fans,he wasnt wrong.

  • Billy the Hammer says:

Gutted, absolutely gutted but let’s have some perspective here,it has been a great season to be an Irons fans & losing tonight ain’t going change that for me.Best season in decades
Oh & if your about Percy go tell the match comment lads on Wetpants some of them are total W#NKERS,lol 😉
