Soucek predicts a change of Hammers style

|

Tomas Soucek believes we may see a different approach from West Ham over the next few weeks and is ready for what he describes as a different type of challenge over the next month.

Nobody expects an easy ride from any team but there’s little doubt that we really should be looking forward to victory over Fulham at the weekend as we bid to take our points tally into double figures.

Two former Hammers – Scott Parker and Slaven Bilic take their sides into action at Craven Cottage tonight (Mon) desperate for points will make the Whites tricky opponents on Saturday.

But Soucek suggests that the Hammers may approach the game in very difficult fashion at the london Stadium this weekend.

He was speaking at  https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/november/02-november/tomas-soucek-itll-be-different-challenge-us  and said:   “We felt we were very unfortunate on Saturday. We were winning 1-0, and still had the game at 1-1 with five minutes to go.

“I wanted more points, but when we lost the first two games and we looked to our schedule we knew it was difficult. But from Arsenal, we got better and better, and now we’ll work hard towards the next game and we want to win against Fulham.

“It will be a different challenge from the last four games for us now.

“We’ve been playing teams from the top six recently and now we want to keep more of the ball and create more chances.”

The Hammers have given themselves a good base for that with their defensive work so far this campaign and the Czech Republic midfielder was again impressed with their solidity at Anfield.

“We wanted to stay very close to each other on the pitch and our shape is improving,” he added.

“We were happy that we didn’t allow Liverpool to create many chances, but still they won the game and that’s hard on us.”
