Soucek trouble looming

|

By Sean Whetstone

Tomas Soucek may join Declan Rice in being sold this summer with just one year remaining on his existing contract plus a twelve month club option.

He and his representatives are  unable to agree terms for a new contract with both sides refusing rti budge on their requirements per Six Foot Two – West Ham Magazine Site (6foot2.co.uk).

Agent Pavel Paska who represents Soucek has been unable to agree a wage structure for his client who is on around £60,000 a week but early contract discussions last year bought claims his representatives want a six figure weekly wage.

Soucek was touted around the Premier League last summer but there was no offer despite initial exploratory talks with Manchester United.

With a drop in form last season it would be interesting to understand what transfer fee he could demand and whether he could achieve a six figure weekly wage package that his agent wants.

There is a real danger that he prices himself out of the market and just runs down his contract at West Ham.

If an offer comes in I would look to sell him this summer. He has been brilliant but his form in the last 18 months has been been terrible. His performances do not want a new contract and I think he should know that too. If there are no offers then we still fave the option of extending by onevtear at the end of next season. Under no circumstances should we extend his current contract at the moment. I would have thought we would be looking for a new player in his position this summer anyway as it was just terrible leadership and management by Moyes to keep playing him last season.

I feel his time should be up. The only issue is Moyes loves a tall clumsy midfielder and always seems to play one. Fellani comes to mind. We should be moving away from that
