Spooky FA Cup omens point to Wembley win!

|

Football. F.A.Cup Final. 10th May 1980. Wembley Stadium, London. West Ham United 1 v Arsenal 0. West Ham United goalscorer, Trevor Brooking (left) celebrating with team-mate Frank Lampard as they parade the trophy.1980 history may be in the process of repeating itself with the Hammers facing West Brom in the next round of the Cup.

For back in that Trevor Brooking-Cup winning season we had to beat the Baggies (after a replay), Everton (after extra time!) and of course Arsenal in the Final to lift the old trophy.

Oh and another spooky element is that we also saw off Villa who remain in the competition and meet Leicester City in the next round.

Those who believe in omens will be mightily encouraged!

1980, Everton in extra time after a replay

Would love Villa at home in the quarter final again!

Trevor Brooking scoring with his head what a miracle and a omen now all we need is a starting line up without Nolan and Noble with the arm band for the next 3 months now that would be an omen.

picked this one up doing the blog rounds so not sure if true……but apparently the three times we have won the Cup – every time we were ball 15 in the 5th round draw. Guess what number we were this time?

Was at the Hawthorns for the 3rd round game. Phil Parkes played a blinder to earn us a replay and go on to win the cup.
