Steidten credited with three summer signings

|

Claret and Hugh has learned that Tim Steidten has been responsible for three of the club’s most influential arrivals this season.

David Moyes made his priority target former Southampton skipper James-Ward Prowse his major target and was successful in negotiations which brought him to the club.

But despite early tensions within the new recruitment set up  Steinten’s picks were Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Konstanos Mavropanos.

Steinten stole Kudus from under the noses of Chelsea who had shown an early interest, and in discussions, convinced the player he need not worry that Lucas Paqueta was in the first team as the intention was to use them both as regulars.

It was thought initially that he had been involved only in persuading the three to join and whilst that was the case we have now been told that he had named all three before travelling to meet them. The man’s influence is being felt to a huge extent inside the club and is set to grow over the forthcoming months.

We were told by our major contact: “Tim picked those three and it’s a sign that all is well that they are all being used now on a regular basis.
