Supporters’ group to carry out protests threat

|

Supporters’ group Hammers United seem determined to carry out their plan to protest at the London Stadium

The group’s committee recently wrote to members on the subject ,  stating that a variety of opinions were shared around at their AGM attended by 100 members on how to make their protests as effective as possible.

A decision was taken to ask the wider membership for feedback regarding the type of protest they believe would have the greatest impact.

The report claims members remain unequivocal in their view that the campaign for new ownership must remain their top immediate priority.

The report says ‘Members are adamant that the board have not earned our trust, have refused to embrace our heritage, have not adequately replaced the home that they sold, have let down the community who we should be serving, have continued to offer loyal supporters a dire service and have failed to communicate openly and transparently with fans.

Members reading this might like to offer us feedback on the approach of holding an event aimed at simply having a large presence. The impact being that the media cover the event and relay the message. Or on the approach of holding an event aimed at causing disruption. The impact being felt directly by Gold, Brady and Sullivan (it is important to note here that our plans would always be safe, legal and would in no way affect the team).”

  • Pessimist says:

Look, I will criticise GSB with the best if they deserve it, but when they don’t, it just seems stupid to moan. What the heck do they want ?

I joint HAMMERS UNITED when it was formed but now have reservations. I know we were all against the move of grounds the owners done and the impact it has had on the small businesses in the area. We also must look at the money generated it has done for the club whilst allowing another 30,000 supporters to watch the team. The owners have spent millions getting new players in we now have a squad that will be top half or better so I find these protests unnecessary. I think you should not rock a stable boat but sail with it and see where we go. Many clubs have sunk doing what HU are trying to achieve

The word “Deluded” seems appropriate right now. In all of my years as a supporter, I have never experienced such nonsense. WHY would anyone want to bathe this club in such BS at such a time, when we are finally getting things right as a club, I will NEVER know or UNDERSTAND.
It may be a coincidence but since Brexit, dysfunction seems to be the new normal so maybe some of our finest are following that trend.

    • Legin says:

Unfortunately Brexit has shown that you don’t need facts or evidence to win an argument. All you need is a target to aim at then spread a load of unsubstantiated BS and many will fall for it. Brexit had the EU. Hammers United (or is that disunited; as a significant number want nothing to do with them) have Gold and Sullivan, not perfect people but the best owners in the 40 years I’ve been supporting the club by a country mile.

Do I miss the Boleyn? Standing yes, sitting, no thanks, cramped uncomfortable and outdated. Moving to the London Stadium was an opportunity not to be missed and it is was never going to become home until some memories were built there; last season and this are hopefully the start of the London Stadium legacy.

Well Said Legin…..Being able to see further than the end of a nose seems to be a dying process. Reminds me of that movie “Idiocracy”

  • El Estrella says:

I am no fan of Sullivan and Gold. Far from it. But does anyone else think this band of no marks are just waiting for a dip in the team’s form so they can capitalise on the effect this will have on the feel good factor and make them all feel oh so important again ?

  • Clive says:

We’ve been doing quite well without these so called supporters groups. I wouldn’t give them any more publicity. I can’t stand this whole cancel culture thing these days, people like this are always dripping with disdain and moaning about something.
