The Chelsea player West Ham SHOULD be targeting

|

Talk of Harvey Barnes has lessened somewhat over the last few days. Perhaps it’s because we’re no longer interested, or maybe we’re awaiting the appointment of a director of football. Whichever it may be, I do believe West Ham should purchase a winger this summer, and one Chelsea player provides an intriguing alternative.

The player in question is USA international Christian Pulisic. The former Dortmund winger is believed to be surplus to requirements under Chelsea’s new regime. Up to now his Premier League career has been stuttering at best but Pulisic is an excellent footballer.

The winger is blessed with rapid pace, direct running an eye for goal and a good pass. Precisely the qualities required should manager David Moyes persist with his counter attacking tactics.

The Chelsea player West Ham should be chasing

Pulisic has suffered more than most from the revolving door at Stamford Bridge. He’s not truly been able to nail down a wingers role at Chelsea, but who has? The West Londoner’s seem to throw money around with little regard for long term planning.

Pulisic would also be known to Football Director elect Tim Steidten, having played for Borussia Dortmund. He is versatile enough to play in a number of positions and at 24 has his best years ahead of him.

Pulisic himself knows his time at Chelsea is coming to an end. He has spoken of ‘having to move to find joy’ so clearly his time at the Bridge has run it’s course. A transfer fee of £30-35 million should be enough to secure his services.

Chelsea have been spending money like it’s going out of fashion and are on an mission to recoup some of their massive outlay.

In my opinion Pulisic would suite both David Moyes and whoever were to follow him.
