The Hammers Numbers game!

|

                           The sadly missed Dylan Tombides

Following on from our first piece we continue to travel through players numbers where today we  remember  Hammers to wear shirts with 30s on the back!

Kicking off at 39, is Josh Cullen who wore it from 2015-2017. At 38, the sadly missed Dylan Tombides after his young life was tragically curtailed by cancer. Number 37’s most recent wearer was Nathan Holland, At 36 we see a few names resurface but Domingos Quina was the last to wear it and arguably the best.

At 35 we see the once highly regarded Reece Oxford ( another young player who fell by the Hammers wayside and is making his career in Europe).

Number 33 sees our Brazilian full back Emerson Palmieri but for 32 we got back in time a bit from 1999 up to 2004 with Steven Bywater , forever associated with that extraordinary 5-4 Bradford game.

Shirt number31 gets a bit tricky as we have Jack Collison, Enner Valencia, and Edimilson Fernandes. But perhaps the nod goes to Valencia

Just like 31, number 30 has a number of possibles as well. Before he changed his current number Michail Antonio, had a stint wearing the 30 shirt, we also had Alex Song, a young James Tomkins, and Frederic Piquionne . But I think the nod goes to big Mikey

Next up, the ’20s, where we will see everything from former Hammers of the Year to one-hit wonders.

More to follow tomorrow
