The Lanzini/Anderson puzzle

|
Manuel Lanzni and Felipe Anderson have come under fire from Irons fans seriously disturbed by theirs and the team’s lack of form
The Argentine was of course handed a whopping new contract a few weeks ago whilst Anderson – regularly touted by pundits as a Hammers inspiration – was taken off against Everton after an ineffective 45 minutes.
It has sparked a for and against reaction among the fanbase which is bound to continue until Saturday at least when newly promoted Sheffield United arrive at the London Stadium which sees them sitting in 15th place on nine points.
.
A big creative spark will be required from one or the other of our two play makers if we are to make an impact but in the meantime here’s a random selection of fans responses on their recent performances from the CandH Facebook group and website forum
O When Lanzini came in the beginning we were warned by Hammer fans in that part of the UAE that he blew hot and cold and lacked consistent performances. So I’m not too surprised but the injuries obviously don’t help. I just hope he gets back.to the level he was coz on his day he is top drawer!!
O We currently have 3  luxury players, none of whom are producing currently. Anderson, Lanzini and Fornals. Haller must be so frustrated
O Inconsistent makes Lanzini the perfect fit for West Ham
O Anderson is viewed through rose tinted glasses. He is a luxury we can’t afford. Yes, he produces the odd but of magic but IMHO doesn’t justify his short comings
O You don’t carry passengers in Premier League. Lanzini looks light weight for midfield and his work rate is questionable. Anderson is a brilliant player without a defensive notion in his head. The fullback on his side is in a hiding to nothing all game. One of these these needs to be dropped for a more consistent worker. Snodgrass or possibly Cullen.
