The law according to Lawrenson

|

Well the law according to Lawrenson usually dictates the Hammers are gonna be beaten every week so it’s no surprise to learn that we are apparently set for a 2-0 loss tomorrow at Turf Moor.

I have to be careful as the last time I took him to task, his 2-0 forecast that Watford would beat us turned out to be correct.

But I really am having a problem believing that with confidence and form so high and the Declan Rice signing boosting everybody associated with us, that we are gonna get beat at Burnley.

Lawrenson however, can usually find a reason however thin for predicting defeats but it does become more and more irritating to read what appear to be his rather prejudicial views.

Never mind though eh, it’s enough for him to call it in the oppositon’s direction whenever we are involved and it truly is hard to believe he doesn’t have something very much against us.

He declares on the BBC website: “You can tell Clarets boss Sean Dyche is feeling the pressure from the way he went into rant mode after his side’s defeat by Arsenal last weekend.

After their defeat by the Toffees on Wednesday he admitted they deserve to be in the bottom three, which might be a case of a manager being too honest.

Dyche has to get his players back out on the training ground to put things right, but the problem at this busy time of the year is that there is not much time to do that between games.

Burnley need to show something here – some fight, at least.

One of their problems is that, whoever plays up front, their strikers are all much of a muchness. In the past at least one of them has been in the kind of form to nick them some goals but at the moment none of them look much like scoring.

I am still going to back the Clarets to get a positive result because of what we have seen from them in the past but, at the moment, things do not look good.”

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0

Lawrenson is clearly biased against West Ham. He never gives us any credit and seemingly cant wait to predict us to lose, usually by 2-0..he always concentrates on our opposition, as demonstrated by his latest prediction for our match against Burnley, and glosses over our efforts.
Personally i think his dislike of the Hammers goes back to when we beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield 3 years ago. That really shocked him and afterwards he mocked us, saying we “are not a very good team and will struggle”!! Thats the season we finished 7th (and above Liverpool).
    Still sulking. Childish.

I’m sure that Dyche will have put a flea in plenty of his players’ ears after the Everton debacle, but surely on current form and with current confidence, we should win this one?

I am always happy when he tips us to lose because usually we do the opposite, I think Burnley will be a touch physical encounter but they look very low on confidence whereas we are high on confidence, if we get on them and play like we did against Southampton or even close to that I can see us scoring goals.

I think Lawro is funny and I like him. He probably knows that he’s winding up the more sensitive among us and is just having a laugh. Who cares what one guy predicts our result to be, especially when he usually gets it wrong!

There’s so much to be positive about right now, are you really going to give a second thought to it? Brush it off and let’s look forward to proving him wrong. Personally, I think he has a soft spot for the Hammers, bless him! 🙂

I think Burnley will fight but if we match their intensity and passion the lads can win this . I believe in the team & they should believe in themselves they have been excelllent lately I would love the team to keep winning they can do it. Plus I would love us to smash them to prove a point to Lawrenson. IN honesty I would take any win as a win is a win but would still love to smash them . Work hard lads , stick together and keep believing in yourselves I believe in the team. COYI ⚒

He clearly hates us because we beat his beloved PNE. I like it when he predicts we lose because it shows what a he really is. I don’t even know why the BBC give him this gig? It must be because he’s not on MOTD anymore.

Lauro often gets it right. Especially when Hugh takes him to task over his predictions. So it doesn’t bode well. Also Dyche would have put a rocket up his time after they let 8 goals in in their last two games. So I think Burnley will be playing back to basics and working harder than ever to keep a clean sheet in this one. So my own prediction is it could go one of two ways. Either a very tight nil nil draw or we slaughter them six nil.
