The new Dawson?
I miss Craig Dawson, with his ambling runs into the penalty box and his Kamikaze attitude to heading the ball.
We as a club have certainly missed him.
But we may have a possible replacement in the form of the physically imposing Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi . who would be a great addition for the Irons – he is big and powerful, incredibly strong and dominant in the air, gifted with a crunching tackle and for a big man, blessed with pace.
Dawson replacement a massive threat at set pieces
Much like the aforementioned Dawson, he is a massive threat from set pieces – which is something we have been lacking.
According to our friends at Opta, he had a very good season, scoring five goals and one assist in 25 Bundesliga games for Union Berlin, who had one of their best campaigns for a while finishing a very respectable 4th.
He ticks lots of boxes and according to transfermarkt, the 26 year old is valued at a very reasonable £15m .
