The majority of Claret and Hugh readers believe West Ham should bid up to £25m for Andre Gomes with over 48% of 1,435 taking part in the poll saying the club should splash £25m on the Barcelona midfielder who was on loan with Everton last season.
Over 16% think we should pay no more than £22m while over 11% believe we should fork out the full £30m with another 11% saying £28m. Only 8% say we should bid £2om with the remaining 5% saying he is not even worth the £18m West Ham have already had rejected.
Everton were quoted a price of £30m by Barcelona but as yet have not made a move for the 25-year-old.
Spurs and Arsenal have also been linked with interest over rumours that he wants to live in London.
With many players still on holiday including Gomes who is in Italy the deal is unlikely to conclude in the coming days but insiders say Gomes remains a top target for the Hammers.

So what was the source? I’m reading that Everton are in talks with Barca. To be honest, I don’t know if he’s any good, I’m just getting the feeling you know as much as the rest of us and you’re leading us on with false hope. I’ve not read one article where it says he wants to Live In London.

Not sure why we are interested in this guy. He is not the box to box player we need nor is he the playmaker type we need. I would love us to have a go at signing Malcolm the other Barcelona player who is also available and has alot more talent, and then to top it of with a 40m offer for Kessie. I suppose I am dreaming but lets dream,

Fortounis for the money seems more attractive. Gomes is a luxury player that we are buying more for his name.
Honestly the deal is done to Everton,just not said to the public,deal wont be sealed till euro window opens,only window open now for British players to British teams,why west ham fans or websites think or even say hes going there or say stuff like rumour came from Everton that he wants to live in London,just gives West Ham fans very false hope.

Undoubtedly a good player that would be a valuable asset to our overall sqaud .
But we’re talking crazy money for a player Barcelona preferred to send out on loan . Probably worth around 22-25million but we need to find the money first . There have been reports that Everton are losing interest though . But then again there are numerous varying reports flying around . He is definitely worth persueing but I feel it’s down to Barcelona and personal terms .. hope we get him .
