Could Wilshere replace Lanzini

Jack Wilshere is likely to be back in the running for a squad place when Manuel Pellegrini makes his selections later this week.

The unfortunate midfielder suffered a small groin problem at the weekend which Pellegrini described was similar to that suffered by Aaron Cresswell ahead of the Everton game.

With six PL appearances behind his this term, the player is desperate to make some sort of impact and Pellegrini is likely to involve him as he looks to encourage him back to some real form.

Although the medics are currently looking at the problem the manager said: ” Jack had a small problem in his groin. It’s not important but he was not 100 per cent.”

Meanwhile, Michail Antonio is looking for a late November/December return from his  torn hip muscle.

Winston Reid – as reported earlier – is hoping to get match action for the under 23s on Wednesday evening but key man Lukasz Fabianski is not set to return until January the earliest.
