Transfer Rumour: Nolan departs Hammers

|

Kevin-NolanClaret and Hugh Columnist ExWhuEmployee has reported on twitter this evening that Kevin Nolan has left West Ham United by mutual consent.

Former Hammer Matty Etherington appears to have confirmed that news by tweeting:

“Good luck to Kev Nolan on his next chapter, a top man and served well”

Nolan had just under a year remaining on his contract reported to be £50,000 per week. With around £2m of wages left on his contract it is normal practise to offer 75% of the remaining contract value to buy out a player’s contract meaning he could have pocketed up to £1.5m in a golden goodbye.

Nolan has made 157 appearances in all competitions for West Ham scoring 31 goals. He joined West Ham in 2011 for a transfer fee believed to be £4m on a five year contract

Another piece of great news. Finally moving him on. [He couldn’t cut it in the Premiership any more…]
I would thank him for his important goals in the Championship that brought us up and also the excellent first season back in Premiership.
Wish him all the best. He was quality for that magnificent 2 years.

  • Chicken Runner says:

  • TysonM says:

Bloody hell,i thought i was seeing things when i saw the headline.Wow,finally all these crappy debates about him could at last come to an end, what a result, lol 😀

  • Stingray Stewart says:

Hmmm, wasnt expecting to see this tonight.Well the guy served us well helping get us out of the championship & he seem well liked as a captain.Wont lie to say im damn glad he is gone though, well maybe, lol.Blimey Wetpants will be flying their Union Jack Boxer shorts at half mast 😀

    • Billythehammer says:

Lol mine have a brown stripe at the back and a yellow stain at the front. Right descion for all involved if you ask me.

  • Michael Miller says:

I said on the FB site that I thought we might have seen the last of him – I feel like Mystic Meg. I must go and have a go at the Lottery!

It’s best for all concerned – he was no longer up to the Premiership and could do a job elsewhere, free up a space in the Squad – there should be questions as to why these Contracts were handed out – not only the amounts but the length.

Nolan, Maiga and Jarvis sitting on long Contracts and not providing value for money – the Dave’s have had to bite the bullet and pay up the Dead Wood’s Contracts. Let’s hope they learn from the experience, although them giving Mark Noble a 5 year Contract makes you think not!

  • rugbyirons says:

Robbing basterds, that Mark Curtis and his deadwood

  • Stingray Stewart says:

Haha,i thought you would be celebrating Rugby 😀

  • essexclarets says:

All we need now is to sign a striker & everyone can stop bi*ching on at the club & go back to supporting them… 😀

  • boys of 66 says:

Great news if true.Could be Maiga & Nolan gone in one evening.Result!!!!

  • essexclarets says:

I’m amused when i read comments from people on other sites blowing smoke up nolan’s ar$e tonight who were slagging him off for months.. lol

    • boys of 66 says:

Haha, yeah, wetpants will be in overdrive with their thanks & adoration for him, lol, well apart from Steve/Rugby,who will be dancing in the street right now 😀

  • Radai Lama says:

I still aint going to believe it until i see it officially, lol, just got a bad feeling about it,like he is still lurking 😉

  • Michael Miller says:

There’s strong rumours that with Nolan going it will mean that Joey Barton will be coming in – apparently Nolan was one of the voices against Barton – who knows it could date back to their Liverpool backgrounds they’re roughly the same age!

  • OZHAMMER13 says:

Please please say its so please please please

  • ExPat_Hammer says:

Of course, canchez knew about this a couple of weeks ago when Slaven said in his press conference….

  • OZHAMMER13 says:

Nolan and Maiga, Nolan and Jarvis between them ain’t worth a pussy full of cold snow, get the three of them gone for whatever we can get and bring in a decent replacement for Downing and a decent striker preferably UNDER 25. No more nice guys, faaark it’s the deadwood dragging the club down. If it was the same here in our Aussie rules comp faaaark they would be on there effen bikes so quick there heads would be spinning. Who’s the dumb ass ****er who handed out the extra long contracts, he should have his nuts handed to him in a box. JUST DO AS THEY SAY HERE AND IN THE WWE
DO WHATS BEST FOR BUSINESS DO WHATS BEST FOR THE HAMMERS!!
Bring in a striker, a good wide man and YES that mad git Joey Barton let him protect the back line tell him to keep his gob shut and have him on a pay as you play basis.
Again FAAAAAARK IT AINT RIGHT DO WHATS BEST FOR WHU, not THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS. PLZZZZZZZZZZ ITS NOT HARD

  • slaven a laugh says:

there was a time he was flapping his little wings all over the place for us. Sadly the chicken dance is no more. Goodbye Kevin. Thanks for the memories.

  • GW says:

He was part of the squad that got promoted and part of the squad that stayed up, he wasn’t the sole reason that this happened like many want you to believe and was paid handsomely for it, if this is true it’s about time it happened..

  • pabloonechop says:

We have lost the club captain, not up to it as a player in the premiership anymore but a leader on and off the pitch. I don’t see too many other leaders around which is a concern particularly with a new manager. Impact on Andy C will be interesting too.

  • GW says:

Pablo totally respect your point but a captain like any other player needs to justify a position in the squad and a team through form not because he’s a strong voice. He was thrown to the wolves by the Fat turd out of blind loyalty not because he justified inclusion and was played because of this mythical relationship when AC returned at the detriment of the teams performance. A captain might have stood up and said “We’re playing well boss keep the same players” and maybe he did but all I’ve seen is him questioning his future and talking about himself justifying his own inclusion. How AC reacts I don’t really care as he’s been taking 90k a week for delivering nothing and if he’s relying on a KN playing he will be a total waste of money!!
