“Unsettled” Kouyate won’t be made special case

|

Kouyate_3191406Cheik Kouyate’s contract will not be reviewed until midway through the season despite Tottenham’s admiration for the Senegal midfielder.

ClaretandHugh revealed last night that the player had become unsettled by agents allegedly getting into him and talk of big interest from Spurs.

We understand the player is keen to be offered a new contract which reflects what he believes is  his growing influence on the Hammers squad.

Spurs have failed to make any sort of move in his direction this window and were they to would be immediately snubbed by the Irons.

However, according to sources inside the club, the Hammers bosses believe a new pay deal would settle any concerns the player may have.

But they will refuse to be pushed into a corner and ClaretandHugh was told there would be no immediate moves to improve the deal.

We were told exclusively: “These situations are reviewed midway through each season – there are no exceptions in the case of any individual player. We can’t start making special cases.”

Kouyate unsettled? He might as well wait for a big club to move to. Sideways moves are pointless!
