Upbeat Carroll’s injury message

|

carrollAndy Carroll has tweeted that he believes he’ll be back in action within a couple of weeks.

Despite rolling his ankle whilst putting on his shoes last Sunday – as ClaretandHugh and other media reported yesterday – the player is confident he remains on track for a return in September.

The big man said: “Training with the lads now so a couple of weeks to get match fit and then I’m back!!”

In an update to the official site just two days the club’s head ofย  Medical and Sports Science and Stijn Vandenbroucke was simply quoted as saying: “Andy Carroll is continuing to work on his rehabilitation after he underwent surgery on a knee injury he suffered in February.”

Fingers crossed however, Andy’s two weeks assessment is correct.

Isn’t it now time to get rid of this misfit?

Attitude all wrong, and simply lives a terrible lifestyle …

    • Ed the Hammer says:

Yeah. Let’s keep paying the lad until he is on the brink of fitness and then, when we desperately need a striker, let’s sell him. That will show him! Assuming you are not a managing director of a hugely successful blue chip footsie 100 international conglomerate…

Jokes aside, let’s hope AC can get a good run this season. Say what you want, but when he is on his game he is unplayable. We love a tryer and a player who puts his body on the line. AC does that and puts himself through the mangle every time he gets on the field. Ok 90k a week blah blah blah but I don’t think he wakes up on match day thinking how best to break his own kneecaps. All the best AC.

I really hope he comes back and plays for the rest of the season. If he can get a string of games together it would be fantastic to see how he does and how many goals he gets and provides for the rest of the team. Payet and Carroll could be lethal and defences would not know whether to pick up Carroll or Sakho so I think a partnership between the team of them could do wonders. It is a shame AC was not ready for the start of the season and hopefully his assessment is correct. You know yourself as a player how you feel. Today is a big game for us, lots of negative press during the week. I just hope we can turn last weekend around and get a positive result. The more points we can get before the likes of Carroll and Song come into the match day squad are so important.

For the life of me I cant understand this hatred towards him. When he is fit and playing he is impossible to defend against. He puts 110% into every tackle, run, shot everything. He doesnt intentionally go out and say yeah I might get injured today. People moaning about his wages too, its not his fault he was offered ยฃ90k per week. I said on another thread yesterday, perhaps we should be blaming the medical teams that try to push him back into the squad too early. If we are saying early october return, then lets give him til mid october maybe early november to make sure he is 100%.

this guy was once one of the worlds most expensive footballers. 35 million back then must be 40 – 50 million in today’s money. Let’s hope he comes good again because it doesn’t look like we can scrape together more than 10 million for a striker these days.

  • Baz Brushe says:

He was 35m through Liverpools stupidity, lol, his value then halved in a couple of seasons when we got him.Wonder what we could flog him for.No more than 12m with his injury record im sure ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • bubs says:

We don’t want to sell him we just want him on the pitch,
When he is fit no defender in the Premier wants to play against him,I just hope we don’t change the new style,no more going back to AC and KN with big balls hit and hope,
Payet will pick AC out and Sakho,Lanzini,Valencia or Zarate alongside will be a problem for all teams,

    • Baz Brushe says:

I wasnt saying we should flog him bubs, lol, just saying that his worth has plummeted from the idiotic 35m the scousers paid for him ๐Ÿ˜‰
