Unlike the official West Ham United ‘shares’ statement which came this afternoon which was perfunctory, and Kretinsky’s more measured tone, the message conveyed by Vanessa Gold was more information-and emotion led, as the daughter of former shareholder David Gold went further to explain to supporters the situation and rationale behind her impending share sale which should, assuming the eventual sale price matches Staveley’s s valuation, produce about £150 million for her 25%.
Gold outlined the agreement reached, and claimed that the new shareholder position would deliver the stability whichWest Ham United so desperately needs:
“My ambition through this process has been to ensure the club had the right leadership and to enable West Ham to achieve its potential and return to its rightful place in the Premier League….This agreement, which was first outlined back in June, provides that stability, allowing the club and its management to continue to focus on the football season”

Sullivan and Vanessa’s father David Gold at Upton Park on the day they took over. Can we have our badge back now?
And she confirmed, in something of a surprise move, that she’ll be staying on as a shareholder but with a vastly reduced holding:
“I will remain a small shareholder,” she said, “but more importantly, I will forever be a passionate Hammers fan.”
One would suspect that with the adroit way in which she handled the Amanda Staveley interest (Gold went out of her way to thank Staveley by name) to lever a significantly higher sale price for her shares than Kretinsky had been willing to pay initially, that Dad David would be immensely proud of his daughter’s business acumen. Not many get one over the Czech Sphynx.
Troy parrot scored the winner for real bets against Real Madrid tonight. Another one that got away .
