We will be doing no more business today

emenikeWest Ham Chairman’s son Jack Sullivan has confirmed what we already knew, that transfer deadline day will be a very quiet day for West Ham fans and to expect no more signings after last night’s announcement that Emmanuel Emenike has signed on loan for the remainder of the season.

Posting on twitter this morning Jack said “We will be doing no more business today”

Although Jelvaic is expected to left for China, his departure could be delayed because the Chinese league doesn’t start until the end of February and the Hammers may keep him as cover until Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho are fully fit.

We could also see the loan departures of Reece Oxford and other promising Academy youngsters as they attempt to get competitive first team football to further their West Ham careers. Reece Oxford has been linked with Southend United and Kevin Nolan’s Leyton Orient this morning on social media but I am sure a Championship club would be a much better fit and challenge for the 17 year old player.

Finally, there is a small possibility that a club could put in a cheeky bid for Joey O’Brien after his performance on Saturday at Anfield. The Irish man has only six months left on his contract and is desperate for first team football after his return from injury. West Ham would be unlikely to stand in his way if a half decent bid came in for the 29 year old.
