Former Manchester United boss and soon-to-be Bayer Leverkusen manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning to raid West Ham for his first signing.
That’s according to TeamTalk, who claim the Dutchman has instructed his new Bundesliga employers to pursue a deal for Hammers centre-back Nayef Aguerd.
The Moroccan international is available for around £25 million and has made it clear he no longer wishes to play for West Ham. As Claret & Hugh reported last week, a senior London Stadium source confirmed that Aguerd has reiterated his request not to return for pre-season training.
We also learned that the club have no interest in loaning out the defender. Ligue 1 side Marseille had shown interest but were unable to meet West Ham’s valuation, while Real Sociedad—Aguerd’s loan club last season—also struggled to match the fee.
With West Ham continuing to insist we must sell before we can buy, the board will be relieved to receive any solid offers. Although the transfer window is currently shut, it reopens next week, giving Leverkusen the chance to make their move.
Aguerd’s exit now feels like a matter of when—not if.

… and for how much money!
Transfer window is still open, doesn’t close until 7pm. Maybe Chelski could come back in for Kudos? I do hope we don’t sell him on the cheap.
Why is the club pleading poverty (sell before we can buy) when every other site I look at for PSR info says the club is OK?
Because of our cheapskate owner. He loves money way more than West Ham.
I couldn’t care less who he joins….atrocious attitude ….since the club pleads poverty on a daily basis let’s see if they will – for once -play hardball on his exit price.
