ExWHUEmployee has today confirmed Claret & Hugh’s exclusive report from yesterday revealing that Ben Chorley has joined West Ham to strengthen the club’s recruitment department.
Speaking during his West Ham Way Patreon update, ExWHUEmployee reported that Chorley has been brought in by the Hammers but is only expected to remain until the end of the current transfer window.
That mirrors the information Claret & Hugh revealed yesterday, when our source explained that the former Southampton recruitment specialist had been appointed on an interim basis rather than as a permanent addition.
Championship know-how could prove valuable
Our source told us: “Chorley has been brought in because he knows the Championship.”
With the Championship season now fast approaching, it’s no surprise that West Ham have looked to bring in somebody with extensive knowledge of the division to support the club’s recruitment operation during a crucial period.
It’s fair to say supporters are getting increasingly twitchy over the lack of transfer activity. Hopefully, by adding another experienced member of staff to work alongside Nils Koppen, the Hammers can finally begin making some progress in the market.
Nobody is suggesting Chorley’s arrival suddenly solves every problem, but if his Championship expertise helps identify the right players and speeds up the club’s business before the window closes, it could prove to be a decent enough appointment.
Now time to sign some players.

What’s happened 2 the brilliant geezer we’ve just brought in 2 do that self same job then guys.
Tell us your opinion please ”GONZO” C O Y I ‘sd
So more recruiters have been signed than recruits? Teetering on the edge.
so much distain from our own so called supporters and you call yourselves west ham fans? i am totally disgusted how you lot are behaving shouting out like you deserve more. it is what it is. we will do what we can as true fans and still support WEST HAM regardless.
its turning into a laugh now anything except players.an expert for this an expert for that.
congratulations can any of these experts play football.when west ham were struggling in september 1974 john lyall was the new manager ron greenwood went out and brought in keith robson, billy jennings and alan taylor for buttons the rest is history,is it beyond the managers wits to find a few players.oh of course they have to be a special kind of player that nobody has ever heard of or seen before.this is rubbish.how have fulham, brentford, crystal palace and others overtaken us? this is shameful.if we dont wake up from this silliness we will be in serious trouble.aka leicester city.please dont bother telling me im being negative,i live in the real world,i didnot need an expert.its time this club started ro wake up. without doubt hammers are the most loyal in the world.
Things like this just shows how poor the set up within the club have been.
A premier league club turning over 250m a year doesn’t have anyone who knows the championship players and transfer targets and opportunities.
surely as a premier league club you should have already had this in place.
now we are championship come the end of the transfer window we go back to no knowledge.
Any club worth anything should have been planning since Christmas, just in case …
Unreal.
Click bait much? I thought it might be something involving an actual football player rather than one of Southampton’s peeping tom brigade.
