West Ham miss out on transfer target

West Ham seem set to miss out on transfer target Jeremy Doku. Overnight speculation suggested the Hammers had submitted a £40m offer for the exceptional talent.

Doku is a flying winger, who has been much heralded since he burst onto the scene. Considered to be Belgian’s brightest young talent, the flying winger has caught the attention of numerous clubs.

West Ham miss out on flying winger Jeremy Doku who is set for a transfer to Manchester City.

Unfortunately one of those clubs is Manchester City, and it has been revealed within the last hour that they’re close to a deal for the player. Transfer ITK Frabrizio Romano has broken a few Hammers hearts with his latest tweet.

The Italian journalist wrote. “Exclusive, Man City, advancing on Jeremy Doku deal as new verbal proposal close to €55/60m package is being discussed with Rennes. There’s competition but City hope to reach an agreement with Rennes this week. After green light on player side since beginning of August.”

Well, that’s that then I guess. I’m sure the Hammers will move onto other targets, but pace in attack is a much needed acquisition. The transfer for Ajax player Mohammed Kudus is still thought to be active. There was speculation the deal had fallen through, however the two clubs are still negotiating.
