West Ham’s striker department is undergoing a major shake-up, with Niclas Füllkrug heading back to Werder Bremen and Joel Piroe expected to become a Hammer by Wednesday.
It’s difficult to describe Füllkrug’s time at West Ham as anything other than an absolutely dreadful transfer. He’s now heading to Germany for a medical ahead of a loan move and is even reportedly prepared to waive salary to help get the deal done.

Meanwhile, Piroe is closing in on his West Ham move after the disappointing collapse of the Troy Parrott deal.
In this video, I discuss why I still view Piroe as something of an emergency striker signing rather than somebody I’m particularly excited about. That said, at a reasonable price following an initial loan, I suspect he’ll do well in the Championship.
There’s also the injury to Pablo, which leaves Nuno desperately short of attacking options, and the wider concern over just how many players appear to want to leave West Ham.
Most worryingly, I’m beginning to wonder what the future holds for Taty Castellanos.
There’s an awful lot happening at West Ham right now, and I’m not convinced all of it is positive.

And i agree with Sue. we should go back in 4 Parrott. lets face the facts. ”TATTY” is no where near a prolific goal scorer. alright. he may knock 1 in every now and then. but what we need is a forward that can knock home 15-20 a season on a regular basics.

again…no one mentioning the reasons this window went sour. have we forgotten what the emergence of Amanda Staveley has done already? if we’d have held on and won on the weekend, what would the comments section look like? 180° turnaround, i suspect, bc so many of our fans have panic-riddled knee-jerk reactions. just as short-sighted as the people they are whining about. frustrating
Piroe has scored 73 goals in 179 Championship games. He can’t be that bad.
Agree with you Lee he is a great signing especially for the Championship. As a Leeds fan he & Soloman are good choices & worked well together for us. Piroe didn’t get game time last season because we changed to a lone striker & he needs a partner just hope you still have one left at the end of the window!
How am I feeling? Let down, lied to and peed off. The fire sale that we were told would never happen is at risk of happening. The board investment we were promised never happened. Squad re-investment was promised and hasn’t happened. Nuno gone defensive again. Bowen gone missing again. Centre backs can’t defend again. Youth not good enough. Otherwise im OK Gonzo thanks for asking.
They have got to keep the key player by signing some decent players before the window shuts

He might cost money but at least he has been knocking in the goals, which we are desperate for
Also need Diasal back from Chelsea desperately to give Mapranonos the support, they were very solid last season. Why Kilman has suddenly been brought back in, beggars belief.We need to move him on, under pressure he crumbles and the rest of the team crumble with him
Being short of players due to injuries is something whu need to get used to.
Also panic buying after all the talk of waiting to get right players.
Lose on Sunday. Discuss on Monday. Medical Tuesday. Whu player by Wednesday.
No excuses for not getting players through the door other than whu dithering.
Not sure he’s even match fit Gonzo? Was reading a Leeds website earlier said he’s only played 14 minutes last 4 pre season games. Cannot confirm if true.
You know how people are Gonzo, the more who leave, the more who will want to leave. If the promise of keeping key players looks to be failing then I fear for us keeping Taty, Dinos or even dare I say it Bowen (if he thinks he has been stitched up)
Way too much negativity around at the moment. Yes it has been laughable how late we have left the buying but we are now getting some good quality in. 2 weeks until the window closes and I’ve now doubt we will be very active in the loan market. We have players like Bowen, Engels, Taty, Dinos, KWP and Solomon that are some of the best in the league and Kante, Orford etc are really great talent coming through. More additions required but get the blend right and we will be good. It might take a couple of months before we are firing on all cylinders but we will get there. And if Taty does go we can use the money to get Parrott FFS.
