West Ham Transfer deadline day round-up

|

David Moyes and David Sullivan will continue to work on potential targets right up until the 11 pm transfer deadline window but as the hour’s tick down a late signing or two becomes more remote. There are five and a half hours remaining and the club continue to priorities the centre back position either permanently or a loan.

Multiple agents are said to be working with the owner and the manager today on multiple defensive targets but as it stands nothing is close.

West Ham are being tight-lipped on the identities of their centre back targets.

Agents close to the club claim they have also been asked to look for a defensive or central midfielder and/or a backup striker on loan for squad cover.

Declan Rice looks like he is going nowhere with the Sun’s Duncan Wright saying Chelsea have abandoned their interest after an £80m price tag, that’s if you believe there was a real interest in the first place.

Josh Cullen is still expected to join Anderlecht before the deadline closes in worth up to £1m, Xand Silva could yet join Greek side Aris on loan for the 2020/21 season.

There are conflicting reports whether Felipe Anderson could join FC Porto in a season long. TalkSport claims the two clubs are in advanced talks but agents close to Porto are highly doubtful saying that the club can not afford his six-figure wages.  Former Hammers Toni Martinez has recently been signed by Porto.

If no signings come in it’s just another lie to go with the rest .5 million of the 40 is spent …it will not go down well ..playing well or not …rondon in talks with spurs Fofana to Leicester just 2 players of many we could of easily got …the are trying there very best not to spend it ..if we get injuries we are bang in trouble…Sullivan is playing with fire the fool

We might have got somewhere if why had not frittered away weeks on chasing Tarkowski who everybody knew was 50 million.Everyone but our incompetent owners that is.

The words were we reluctantly sold grady to get in players where we are short, all money will be available to be spent on those areas and once again Mr Sullivan has let us down completely. If anyone can still believe these 3 have the best interests of the club at heart I fear they are delude beyond help. They knew the anger generated by selling Diang and then made their “promise” of reinvesting all the money, yet here we are with a wafer thin squad (which is getting thinner through today) and the owners have such contempt for the fans and the club that they will sit back and refuse to invest. Shameful way to run any business

Cullen going is another nail in GSBs coffin, slippery sully is such a money grabber the miserly £800,000 HE gets from selling Cullen will never be seen by the club.

I have sat all day watching deadline day on Sky, waiting for West Ham signings that were “vital” to get and now I feel I have had the wool pulled over my eyes yet again. With 4 hours to go having mentioned numerous names “we were after”, no noe is in site. I can only assume that we have been lied to again.

I don’t follow West Ham because I want to see them paying the most, spending more than anyone else or buying up hundreds of players just in case.
I follow the team that plays on the pitch. After our disasterous start at home to Newcastle, I was genuinely concerned and even resigned to not making any points until November. But, after the last two games (or even including Arsenal), I am totally impressed with our team on the pitch and in awe of our bench at each game. We have played so well. We have looked really superb, to a man. I can’t see where we desperately need reinforcements or strehgthening. This group of players are the right group for today.
I can’t see where Diangana would have improved us. I can’t see where anyone else coming in would improve us. Obviously helped by a magnificent debut from Coufal – keep playing like that and there’ll be no complaints. We have back-up of sufficient class and talent. I would not shed any tears if some of the ‘dead wood’ were to be moved on and take their chances playing elsewhere. We need to hang on to Randolph, Snodgrass, Haller, Diop, Balbuena and the like, though.

Not bothered about ‘non-arrivals’ or perceived ‘lack of investment’. Give the owners and management their due – they are all trying to do their best. And if they last couple of games are anything to go by (I hope they are), their best seems to be producing a team worth watching.

Not counting the trophies yet and don’t need to climb the Premier League positions each year. Just staying in the League gives us the opportunities to excite and reward the faithful.
