All Change at The Front!

The attacking formation which West Ham Fans have been calling for has been selected – finally – by Julen Lopetegui as Mikhail Antonio is dropped from the starting eleven. It is one of the Hammers stronger elevens and the forward part at least is the selection – me included- thousands seemingly have been calling for:

The Full Starting Eleven is:

Areola : Wan Bissaka; Mavropanos; Kilman; Emerson:Alvarez; Rodriguez; Paquetá: Summerville; Bowen; Kudus

Still no place for Jean Clair Todibo which I find puzzling after Mavropanos’ shaky displays of late.  A much more attacking, mobile formation going forward is on offer with a full starting debut for Cyrencio Summerville on the left.

With Paqueta presumably operating in the middle behind the front three, this is an exciting front line and Jarrod Bowen takes over in the striker role which he worked so successfully last year. No doubt there’ll be a fair amount of interchanging amongst the front three.

A very strong bench as is now the norm, again no place for Luis Guilherme who didn’t feature in last night’s under 21 game so is getting absolutely no match time at present: That’s a conundrum for another day.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

FFS 3-0 down 2 minutes into the 2nd half. Schoolboy defending leaving 3 against 2 for the 3rd goal and we are just being ripped apart. What the hell is going on?

4 min to concede …just fucking ridiculous…how many times over the last few years have we conceded a goal in first 5 min
    .pathetic

I’m wondering about tobido , is it that jlo don’t fancy him or is it that he’s still not fit, I’m just so confused, why get him and don’t use him , if he was at any other club he would be starting already , I would understand if big mav was playing good but he’s not , already a couple of mistakes leading to goals

So pleased to see our best possible 11 on the pitch. A selection that suggests we are planning on going head to head with Chelsea rather than one that suggests we are running scared before a ball is kicked. COYI!

Looks like about the best XI available.
To me, it looks like a counter-attacking line up, more than the ‘attacking’ formation mentioned.

That’ll do for me. Start Todibo in the League Cup to see what he’s about. That has to be close to our strongest eleven for now.

Agreed, hope it performs like it is the strongest team.. good options from the bench too….

We need Paqueta to start doing what we know he’s capable of, if he starts turning it on all of Bowen, Kudus and Summerville are more than able to capitalise.

I think Todibo will displace Mavropanos given time, Liverpool in the League Cup is the ideal first opportunity.

That team is so much stronger than last season with a far stronger bench that allows you to see options. It can only be a matter of time before we go on a run surely…
