West Ham take on Derby County this afternoon with the best part of the Championship being the return of regular 3.00pm Saturday kick offs – something of a throw back to an almost bygone era when all football started at the same time and the pre-match build up became a regular part of life, whether at home or at a hostelry close to the ground and a couple of swift pints beforehand. Happy days.
The Hammers have the opportunity to rise dramatically up the league table with a win this afternoon and must fancy their chances of two wins within a week: Providing Nuno doesn’t go all ‘Nuno’ on us and name some experimental side with key players out of position.
Just over an hour to kick off and the West Ham line up has been announced:
West Ham United
Hermansen | Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Scarles| Engels, Mukasa, | Bowen, Piroe, Taty, Solomon

Good to see Lewis Orford back on the bench – which looks a whole lot stronger than 7 days ago.
Pablo, apparently, was due to start but was a late withdrawal after the warm up, hence Piroe in from the start in his place.
We will have player ratings and first impressions straight after the game so check back at 5pm – Come On You Irons!
Great to see Orford back in the squad, strange that he was totally omitted after his best game for us so far at Southampton. Today it is Pablo who is rewarded for his best game so far by being dropped from the squad. I know managers are strange individuals but I really can’t work Nuno out!
Pablo wasn’t dropped, he withdrew with a late knock (apparently) and watched from the stands
Where are Alvarez and Magassa Nuno bad habit falling out with players Will cost him and the club in the end His job is to manage this club giving the fans the best weve got and hes not doing that The last few months are proof of that NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Where’s Pablo. Injured?
‘late knock’ apparently
Pablo injured?
