West Ham’s Carboni Chase Stalls

|

West Ham United’s dream of signing young midfielder Valentin Carboni has encountered a hurdle. Inter Milan, Carboni’s parent club, have reportedly set a hefty €40 million asking price, significantly higher than West Ham’s January bid of €15 million.

Carboni, currently on loan at AC Monza, has impressed despite not being a regular starter. His 2 goals and 4 assists in 24 appearances have caught the eye, leading Inter to significantly inflate his price tag.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham might not be the only club interested.

The report suggests there’s interest “from abroad,” potentially referring to West Ham again, and from Genoa. Genoa might even offer Carboni as part of a deal for Inter’s Albert Gudmundsson.

This potential bidding war adds another layer of complexity for the Irons. They need to act swiftly if they want to secure Carboni, especially considering the high asking price.

West Ham now faces a difficult decision. The €40 million valuation is a substantial investment, and they must weigh Carboni’s potential against the hefty price tag.
