“Who Are Ya?” All You Need to Know About West Ham’s 20M Striker

With reports confirming West Ham had completed the signing of a striker last night, many supporters still know very little about him. So beyond the usual You Tube highlights, I decided to dig a little deeper and find out who Pablo really is!

Pablo Felipe Pereira de Jesus—better known as Pablo Felipe or simply Pablo is just 21 years old and already boasts an impressive record, scoring ten goals in 13 appearances for his former club, Gil Vicente.

At 6ft tall, his goal tally comes from a mix of composed penalties, instinctive poacher’s finishes, and moments of inventive attacking play.

He made his professional debut at 17 with Famalicão before enjoying loan spells at Paços de Ferreira and later Gil Vicente, where his performances eventually earned him a permanent move.

Pablo Has Bags of Potential

According to scouting stats, Pablo’s key attributes include clinical finishing, pace, intelligent positioning, dribbling ability, chance creation, and strong aerial duels. Crucially for West Ham, he excels at converting high‑quality chances, something Head of Technical Recruitment and Analysis Max Hahn will no doubt appreciate in the data.

Represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes and born in Braga, Pablo holds dual Brazilian and Portuguese nationality. Football runs in the family too, his father, Pena, was the Primeira Liga’s top scorer for FC Porto in 2000 with 22 goals, so West Ham will be hoping that goalscoring instinct is hereditary.

There will have been a few eyebrows raised at the signing, yet with Wolves placing a £40m valuation on Jorgen Strand-Larson who has scored one goal this season, the Hammers quickly turned their attention elsewhere
