Why only fewer tickets sold for game?

As reported, the Hammers will see a disappointing turn out for tonight’s game against Freiburg at the London Stadium and here are a couple of reasons why so fewer tickets have been sold for the game …at 47,000.

Few appear to believe it was the 5-0 thumping at Fulham which is the cause, rather the cost of tickets and travel at a very difficult time of the year for many.

Government cost of living payments  prove their own point and although prices for the game are more than reasonable, Christmas expenses are not easy to foot with those living within financial limitations.

One Claret and Hugh follower Mr Buddy Lurve makes the points very well in a post on the site’s website.

He explains: “I’d love to go, but just afford it. It’s not an unreasonable price for a ticket, but there’s always a tipping point.

If they were £20 for the Band 4 seats, it might have swayed me, but it’s not just the cost of the ticket, but the trains are astronomical (when they run) so it’s a £200 trip for a family at a difficult time of year.”

With matches now being televised – tonight’s is on TNT Sports – it is understandable that many have chosen to make this a stay at home night.

Those inside the stadium will as ever have the place rocking.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY IRONS!

I think it’s a lot to do with the fact no one much enjoys or looks forward to going at the moment. It’s just boring… with our players we should be seeing much better, and I don’t just mean results as we’ve very luckily won a few games recently that we didn’t deserve to.
