West Ham United desperately need to bolster their defence this summer, and according to Dirilis Postasi, they’ve set their sights on a familiar face: Colombian centre-back Davinson Sanchez. The 27-year-old currently plays for Galatasaray in Turkey, but his impressive form has piqued the Hammers’ interest in bringing him back to English football.

Sanchez has been a rock at the heart of Galatasaray’s defense this season. He’s not just a physical presence (standing at 6 foot 4), but also boasts impressive defensive stats – averaging 1.7 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, and 1.9 clearances per game in the Turkish Super Lig. His attacking contributions shouldn’t be overlooked either, with 3 goals and 2 assists to his name this season. Adding to his skillset is a tidy passing ability, evident in his 82.7% pass completion rate.

While Sanchez seems like a perfect fit, West Ham might face a challenge in securing him. His contract with Galatasaray runs until 2027, making a bargain deal unlikely.

Despite the potential transfer hurdle, Sanchez possesses qualities that West Ham desperately need. His tackling prowess, aerial dominance, and experience in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur make him a valuable addition. He wouldn’t need much time to adjust to the English game and could immediately inject some much-needed steel into the Hammers’ backline.

This may be the worst suggested signing I’ve ever seen on this platform

  • Pav says:

Agreed with Burch, he was awful at Spurs, their fans couldn’t wait to see the back of him. No thanks

    Are you sure

  • Bennyboy baker says:

Hardly a transfer that would be considered positive spurs couldn’t get rid of him quick enough and we are considering bringing him to our club we need to raise the bar much higher than that we need to bring in top players not someone who at best is a bad signing at worst would be another Phillips no bloody good

Meh! Don’t believe what you read. Who do you think puts these stories out there? West Ham? Tim S? The scout? No, they are planted stories either from agents trying to engineer a move or some kid looking for click bait for his site. Then sites like this regurgitate the nonsense and it becomes accepted.
I don’t believe for a moment Tim S is considering Sanchez. Just internet nonsense.
People need to stop believing the media. This is why so many are already after Lopetegui’s head. Use your eyes and your common sense and stop listening to media spin.

Simon, stop showing how very little you know about football.
We don’t need anymore disastrous players, we’ve got enough
