Yarmolenko mocked by teammates

|

Hammer Andriy Yarmolenko has been mercilessly mocked by his West Ham team mates today at training after his horror miss during yesterday’s game against Chelsea at the London Stadium.

His awful miss came 13 minutes from the final whistle as substitute Robert Snodgrass swung over a cross from the left that found Andriy Yarmolenko, free beyond a distracted Marcos Alonso at the back post. The winger somehow headed wide to the disbelief of the majority in the stadium when he seemed easier to score than miss. That the Ukrainian was later awarded the sponsors’ man of the match award which must have felt slightly embarrassing.

The Ukrainian obviously saw the funny side of the prank by posting a video on social media of the squad’s joke at his expense. The pictures show Yarmolenko with a square head to represent the strange angle his headed effort took yesterday.
