One of the Hammers’ summer arrivals has spoken clearly about the possibility of the recent series of draws costing West Ham dear come the end of the season – and making the case that there is an urgency to get back to taking three points from games.
Whilst on first inspection the league table looks fine, with West Ham in third place just four points off the lead, after eleven games the Hammers are short of their two points per game target required to ensure automatic promotion.
Their 1.7 average achieved so far means they’ll be mired in the play off lottery unless the ‘wins’ return sharpish.

Divine Mukasa – West Ham need to get back to three points per game, sharpish: The words West Ham fans needed to hear
Loanee Divine Mukasa spoke to whufc.com showing a crystal clear understanding of what is needed to rescue the Irons’ ambition of winning the league, in a manner that could serve as a blunt reminder to boss Nuno – if any were needed- that West Ham need to put their foot down and get back to winning ways:
“It’s about ironing out a few things and the games where we’re getting a point, we need to try and make that three because, come the end of the season, I think it’s going to make a big difference,” he said.
And emphasising that it matters not whether the Irons are playing at London Stadium or on their travels, they simply need to get out and dominate the league in a way that Nuno’s more cautious style has so far struggled to deliver with consistency:
“Regardless of whether the games are home or away, they are coming thick and fast, so Wednesday is an opportunity to go out there again and get three points, then the same again on Saturday.”
Well said young man. Time for Nuno to take the hand brake off. 6-2 will do nicely.
Stop Bowen taking penalties and Taty they are predictable give it to Engels or Piroe anyone but Bowen really,
If we go more than 10 points behind second sacking Nuno might be a good call, he is too negative, if you listen to most of our players or mgmt speak it’s hard not too fall asleep and they play with the same level of energy.
Maybe just blast out heavy metal in the changing room to get the players fired up.
Yes, Nuno is definitely the weak link in the club. He really isn’t the right man for the job despite many of us thinking he was. He has too many negatives to really take the Championship by the scruff of the neck. I imagine many other coaches would bite your arm off to be given a squad such as ours yet Nuno can’t seem to manage it at all well. How did he do so well with Wolves? He must have relied on a good backroom team and, of course, many of his compatriots from Portugal. I hope we don’t rue the day he was given the job of getting us back into the Premier League, especially while Eddie Howe, as far as I know, is still available. He ceratainly isn’t a negative influence on his team!
