Ashton: ‘Break the bank for Austin’

|

AshtonFormer Hammer Dean Ashton has urged the West Ham owners to break down snap up £15m-rated QPR striker.

Speaking on TalkSport Radio “I heard Teddy Sheringham talking about Charlie Austin and I feel the same.

“Nowadays there are plenty of centre forwards that can score you three or four goals a season but he scored 18.

“He got overshadowed by Harry Kane, who is rated around £40 to £50 million and they are saying £15m for Charlie Austin. I would try and break the bank for him.”

On Thurday former Hammer Teddy Sherringham told Talk Sport he would pay whatever it takes to sign the 26-year-old if he were a Premier League boss.

Won’t happen if we our very lucky we might get a Hull player for £3 million and be glad of it,
The spending is finished now just the excuses

Both he and Sheringham are right, they were both intelligent footballers and they recognise one of their own is which is what Austin is, years ago we paid what people thought was a very large sum for Austin bit despite the terrible injury he paid it back and we were always a threat to teams with him in the side.

So this is your new moan up for the day is it bubs.Everywhere on here is you telling everyone the spending has stopped, lol,go grab yourself a beer mate, you need one 😉

Look’ like the usual start, injured players no strikers , just crack on and buy Austin now it will be money in the bank at the end of day ,when he gets us 20 goals this year we can sell him for thirtyK next year,

  • jetshammer says:

    £30 grand Tom? I was thinking more £30m 😉

  • jetshammer says:

However, I do agree and we should get Austin now. Having him in the squad and making Carroll fight for his place when he’s fit (and the other strikers) is healthy and what top teams do.

Having a beer mate by my pool getting a tan,not moaning just stating a fact,
Hoping it pushes some buttons get some reaction
After we gave up on Europe thought we could do with a bit of spirit back in the club
Hope I am wrong and we spend a fortune

Sad seeing the tweets from Mr Sullivan’s son, problem is Gold should never be given such a free hand tweeting promises all the time! and getting in debates with fans. The owners are always proud of what they put into the club, then the purchase of Austin should be no problem, sell Carroll for anything before he has no value at all. I just hope the owners are not wishing for Slav to fail, not giving him the players we need!
