Moyes Makes Bizarre Claim

West Ham manager David Moyes has made a bizarre claim following the Irons 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Despite the result meaning the Hammers are unlikely to play European football next season, Moyes described it as a ‘good result’.

Whilst I can understand the Irons’ boss being pleased with the performance of the players, the result itself is surely bad news for both Moyes and the club. With other Premier League score lines going against West Ham, it has been a sobering day for the club, marking the end of three years of highly enjoyable European football.

Clearly, David Moyes is responsible for much of the glory the Hammers have enjoyed in Europe. However, considering today’s draw marks the end of an era, it’s hard to consider it as a good result.

“It’s a really good result for us,” said Moyes.

“The players were all shaken from last week and desperate to get it out of their system, and I thought they did an amazing job today.

They’ve shown tremendous character to come back from being 2-1 down to a good Liverpool side, especially after what happened at Palace, and I have to give them plenty of praise.

I said to the players that we need to show some form of reaction today, and I think we did that.

It was tough because Liverpool are very good in possession, and you have to try to make it as tough for them as possible to score goals.”

Apparently it was a good result for us? I suppose we didn’t concede 5 goals today, that was good but apart from that, it doesn’t really help. The officials only let Liverpool score 1 illegal goal, thats good that it wasn’t 2 or 3, I suppose. And lastly, what other nugget of info was it? Oh yes, Apparently we have to make it hard for opposing teams to score goals. So there you have it, modern football at its best.
