England could face Kouyate

England could be facing Cheik Kouyate’s Senegal in the next round of the world cup. The 6-1 win over Panama means England will progress to the final sixteen to face either Japan or Senegal from group H.

England and Belgium jointly top group G at the moment on the same points and goal difference. England faces Belgium on Thursday evening for the decider on the top two places of the group.

The drawing of lots could be used to decide which of England and Belgium wins World Cup Group G if they draw Thursday’s head-to-head in Kaliningrad.

Japan and Senegal played each other yesterday with a 2-2 draw, Hammer Cheik Kouyate and Senegal captain came on as a 65th-minute substitute after his first world cup group match was limited to just 3 minutes.

Senegal face Columbia on Thursday afternoon for their final group match while Japan faces hapeless Poland who lost 3-0 on Sunday.

All English eyes will be on these games to see who they will face in the next round.

The Winner Group H will play Runnerup Group G and Winner Group G will play Runner-up Group H.
