Four players finally leave West Ham

|

James Collins officially ended his employment as a Hammer yesterday and is now a free agent as he woke up today. Most football contracts and loans run until 30th June and the same was true for Joe Hart, Patrice Evra and Joao Mario who all ended their West Ham stints with the club yesterday.

Mario’s last game for in the World Cup yesterday was as a West Ham player as Portugal got knocked out by Uruguay.

Despite the four players kicking their last ball in May in a Claret and Blue shirt, we carried on paying them as part of their contracts.

Around £300,000 per week has been removed from the wage bill giving over £15.6m per year in wages to re-invest this summer.

Officially joining the West Ham payroll today is Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and Łukasz Fabiański who will use up a combined £170,000 per week working out to around £8.8m in wages.  Felipe Anderson is claimed to want around £80,000 per week using up another £4.2m if they manage to get the transfer over the line with Lazio.

Shame to see Ginge go but hopefully now those wages are off the budget we can sign the players we are being linked with free of worry about FFP.
