Hammers and Vardy – the facts!

|

vardyWest Ham’s hopes of landing Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy have been priced up as 20/1 against by West Ham.

The London Evening Standard today included the 29 year old on a list of targets the Hammers have put together but it’s Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette who remains the real focus of attention.

Vardy was identified as a possible signing several weeks ago despite him signing a new £80k a week deal with champions Leicester City in February.

However, ClaretandHugh’s top source has made it clear within the last few minutes that “whilst we never say never, we’d rate the odds of pulling it off at around 20/1.”

Speculation has been at its most intense since David Sullivan declared yesterday that he had lodged a 30 million euros bid for a player in Europe  which is understood to be Lacazette and is preparing to move in on an English-based striker.

As we reported earlier Christain Benteke is fifth of sixth choice and the club have made it clear they find negotiating with Liverpool very difficult.

And Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is not a strong contender for a West Ham switch either as the club steps up its European negotiating position.

    Vardy would never join us,
I apologise for yesterday about my Walcott remarks I should know better then listen to rumours, just did not want another half a season sick note on the books,
If Benteke joins half our first teams agents will want their player given pay rises,
Think I will just wait and see who we really are going to buy and weather the players actually want to come,

I hope we don’t sign him. He’s a racist thug who has perfected the dive (as we saw again on Saturday.) I don’t care how many goals he scores, we can do better.

do we really want to keep hoofing it over the top for Vardy to run on to?
What was that price? £20 mil; I don’t think so.

We do not need him – he is a one season wonder !
