Hammers react to Gokhan Tore reports

|

Reports that West Ham have struck a deal for Besiktas star Gokhan Tore were tonight denied by the club.

We alerted readers to the reports in an earlier piece on here this evening declaring we would try to get the story confirmed or otherwise.

But despite manager Slaven Bilic being a big admirer of the player we have been told that no moves have been made for him.

Our senior source explained: “Someone would have to leave for that deal to happen because we have our spending plan well mapped out.

“We shall be finishing the deal for Manu Lanzini over the next few days at £8 million and there’s another £3.8 million to spend on Sam Byram.

“We are also keeping a good amount back for a striker but he will need to fit the wages policy because of the FFP considerations.

“We know that Tore has been linked to us for several months but the reports today are wrong. They say the deal has been done at around £8.5 million and we will announce in May – that’s not true.

“If someone leaves it may be possible as the manager likes him but at this stage there is no business on that one at all.”

The players that are under threat are Song, Moses, Carroll and Emmenike. I like Song but not sure he has recaptured his form this season, I hope he proves me wrong. If not the player from Germany would be a logical replacement. I am also a big fan of Moses but I think Chelsea will ask for crazy money so I think this guy Tore is a real option if that happens. I think either Carroll or Emmenike will go this summer freeing up the signing of a top striker. I also believe we need a top RB, which Byran is not, well not now at least.

Yes the money for Moses is obscene as was the money for Jenkinson who thankfully won’t be back.I agree that the new role for Carroll does not justify the money being spent on him.The jury is still out on Emeninke in my humble opinion. As for Song I have always been an admirer but his future will be determined by his parent club Barcelona.Specifically how much will they ask for him although on form he should be a free.

I for one would love to see Tore come to us ( I hope its his agent stirring things up ?? – who knows we can dream ) + 1 Good Striker thats all we need for next season with all the Youth teams players trying to break through into the first team we will have enough in reserve for Europe and Cup runs !!! COYIs

One last point Valencia needs to find the net more often or he could find that he might be the one making room for more to come ???

Song is out of contract in the summer iirc. I think the bmg midfielder will be a decent squad player. We need four strikers so it makes sense to keep Carroll, on his day he offers something no other English striker can. Tore is quality and slave knows exactly what he’s getting so I’d have a pound on him signing

I remember an article on here a while back by Sean I think, it was explaining the true cost of our loans signings Song, Jenks & Moses … with loan fees, wages & bonuses they were costing the club a fortune – I believe one of them possibly Moses was £175,00 a week

I cant see any of them staying next season so I was under the impression that we would have over £400,000 a week spare for next season.. add to this the unexpected success in the league & FA cup which must be making us millions of extra £££’s plus the move into the new stadium and the extra revenue we will generate from that.. yet we are still worried about FFP

I might be very wrong .. im defo very confused

I thought we would be able to spend A LOT more next season
