Kouyate calls for focus

|

kouyateCheik Kouyate has told the squad to stop making mistakes against very good teams but believes Michail Antonio’s injury had a big impact on the match against Spurs.

He told the official site :“We started the game very well and played very good for 30 minutes but we lost Michail Antonio after that, then we had five bad minutes and lost two goals in a crucial game,”

Speaking the West Ham TV he declared: “Everyone knows they are a very good team and that you can’t make mistakes against Tottenham, but everyone needs to keep their head up and work hard.

“After the first half, we spoke with the manager and players and said ‘Guys, we need to push because we are 2-0 down and we need to give everything’.

We gave everything, but the game was very bad for us so we need to stay focused and work hard.”

Apart from his very good goal yesterday, there’s been something missing from him this season. He’s not as involved as he usually is.

Wasn’t it Kouyate who could have got something on AC’s crap pass, but instead swayed out of the way, letting the spuds break for the first goal? Every team in the PL is good, so how about cutting out these mistakes full stop and applying ourselves before we go two zip down. And yes he just hasn’t been at the races so far this season.

Give the geezer a chance he has only played 3 full prem games since doing his in knee in July.I always read Poppodom should be given 6 to 8 matches to be back to his best so its only fair the rest are given the same 😁

    Considering he is

    A) a centre back in truth playing regularly in midfield (and thus has the limited ability we witness in terms of control/touch and passing)
    B) had literally no pre season at all and this is his 3rd game only

I think he’s going about things pretty well. Could have done more for thier opener but why would he be expecting a hospital pass like that at all.
