London Stadium pitch invader avoids capture

pigtchinvaderThe Manchester United supporter who invaded the pitch to celebrate with Mata on 63 minutes of yesterday’s home defeat has avoided capture it has been revealed.

The away fan slipped past three pitch incursion staff to become the first person to invade the London Stadium pitch. He opened his arms out to hug Mata who completely ignored him. The male fan then managed to slip back into the Sir Trevor Brooking lower away end where he was protected by fellow fans. The security response team was unable to locate him.

London Stadium have promised to review CCTV footage and they will share their findings and images with Manchester United. If identified the supporter faces a life ban from the London Stadium together with a possible criminal record and football banning order.
