Report: Irons may bid for exciting winger

|

traoreThe Irons are claimed to be ready to move on Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore as they bid to boost their options on the right flank

The Northern Echo is also reporting they will consider  going in for Newcastle’s Christian Atsu should new Boro boss Tony Pulis knock them back.

Spanish winger Traore has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs and Chelsea were one of those who looked into his form last season.

Traore appeared off the bench during Saturday’s defeat to Fulham and gave the highly-rated Ryan Sessegnon, a massively tough test.

The Irons are looking to raise money from the sale of Diafra Sakho and possibly Chicharoto but Boro will be reluctant let Traore leave on the cheap.

Faster over the first five yards than anyone else in the PL. Makes defenders look like they are treading in treacle.

BUT, and there’s always a but, his end product is often poor.

If Moyes could do his “Arnie Magic” on Traore, it would be a brilliant signing.

Sakho sold, Carroll shipped off to the treatment room at Chelski, Hernandez moved on – would leave Arnie, Martinez and Ayew (though he might go too). Buy Smolov, Traore and Dendoncker. Start Rice every game.

    That’ll do this window.

What’s so wrong with Carroll ?…
seems like an obsession . If he scores it’s all “ come on you Irons “ .
Get a grip ffs . It would be forever to our decrement if we sell Carroll to any rival Club .
Chelski ain’t stupid . They know a good thing when they see it ….. problem is here is that there are too many fans with a mania to sell Carroll ….. don’t understand it and never will.

Do the Math Kev, £90k a week for four years and 128 appearances. (Looks like £146k per game to me).

        Simply doesn’t keep himself fit.

I’d be the first to say hang on to him if he was always available to start.

It’s all a total waste of time and effort . This January Window which happens every season should be scrapped . If clubs can’t get on with it for a whole season then it’s down to them .
Talk of Carroll moving must be the biggest load of nonsense I’ve ever heard and what’s more ,, why .? . I can’t believe that there are still fans that want to see him go . It dumbfounds me absolutely . When he scores ( come on you Irons ) ect ect ect . Moyes is turning us around with players improving all the time . We are still in a struggle , but then I ask ; who’s not ? . We should think ourselves lucky to still be in the Premiership .
I was looking at the lower leagues and noticed at least 20 teams that were in the old First Division . Ambition is one thing but survival is quite another .
We are currently in 11th with everything to play for ……. it could all change with a few bad results . We need to support the players we have instead of looking elsewhere .
The FA Cup is massive for me as a Supporter and our League position also .
But ,,,,,, we don’t really need to buy players in this window in actual fact .

Carroll deserves an England call up . He was needed in the past two International Tournaments but ,, successful managers ignored him when we were we crying out for someone to Head it Home . End of ….

Just tell that illiterate pundit Merson to go do one .

I like Troare, he’s a dynamic player that will get arses off their seats ..for the right money is no brainer for our squad and he’s young aswell…if we can get him playing to another level is another matter…if moysie thinks he can get him playing to that then he’s worth a punt …But !! We need quality not quantity in the immediate future…

Villa bought him for 10 million in which he only played a handful of games and then he was moved on to boro.Nuff said!

Would want too much & no end product £15m for him dont get it. If want decent deal why not Marko Larzovic who Liverpool would let go for cheap has pace & can cross & score still only 23.
If want championship players why not go for James Maddison who is a creative super star w 8 goals few being lovely free kick & 8 assists 21yo & would fit in PL.
WBA bidded £12m on Tom Cairney who would be a good buy to had some knee issues but a huge talent.
Really wish went for Maddison earlier before Norwich sold Pritchard.
Don’t get Traore I’d take Marko on loam from Liverpool w buy option.
And we haven’t been playing wingers to much WBs yes.

On AC if we can sell him permanently £15m or so be mad not to w his injury record & he has had his head turned now & age if we had Smolov or Babcar lined up I would sell but woulnt let go on loan be daft

We apparently have some of the best coaches in the game so maybe they have seen something in him other than his pace that could help him realise his potential, I don’t think this is anything more than a rehash of old stories but if it was true I would be happy to see what we could do with all that pace on the counter. As for selling Sakho the club have plenty of money on the bank to afford a £15m transfer without selling anyone.
