Sam on holiday when decision is made

|

SamonholsSam Allardyce has told reporters that he will be on holiday as his future is decided next week.

He used his London Evening Standard column to say:

“My future at West Ham will be decided after this weekend, I will be on holiday with my grandchildren, something I’m looking forward to immensely, but my representatives will be talking to the club. There’s nothing more I can say on that. I’m not in control of the situation so we’ll just wait and see.”

Speaking to reporters earlier he added:

“My future will be sorted out one way or the other on Monday,” said Allardyce. “I am going away with my grandchildren to Spain, but my agent will be available to speak to the owners. It will be the owners’ decision. The speculation has possibly affected the players a bit, with all the other names of managers who are being linked to the job. I’m sure Carlo Ancelotti will be the next name, but I cannot affect that.”

How ridiculous is this ? Yes, he may not be offered a new deal, but be man enough to face up to it, listen to the reasons the board may give why they have made the decision.
After four years at West Ham he should attend that meeting personally, even if he knows what’s gonna happen. If that is his parting shot though, it’s quite fitting: Never taking responsibility when bad things happen, but trying to get all the limelight when things go well.
In other news from ExWHUemployee Tony Pulis is another name in the hat now, no approach yet, because he’s still under contract at West Brom, but the name appears to be another option being considered.

No please not Pulis it’d be more of the same with some thuggery thrown in whenever I’ve watched his teams they always leave the foot in,more stability for the non ambitious but certainly not for me

  • Quickdraw says:

Blimey Kevin and Spoonie will be getting very excited with the photo of their Adonis

  • mattefumi is planning the party says:

  • Quickdraw says:

He deserves a nice long holiday 10 or 15 years should do it

  • Chickenrunner says:

He is running from the inevitable. He doesnt have the cojones to front up himself.First in front of the camera for praise. The vanishing Houdini when things aint great.Watch out bubs, theres a hippo heading your way.You will know what plane he is on,mud will be dripping off the wheels as it comes in to land 😉

Kevin and Spoonie will be upset if they see that photo they will think Gramps and Nan have gone without them,
    Nice photo Hugh

  • Rads says:

Doesnt surprise me he wont be at the meeting. He is only about when praise is heading his way.Cant wait to see what he says in the coming months about the club.Im sure nothing will be his fault.Maybe when he says what he really thinks then the Sammerettes will see they were defending a geezer who gave not a damn about them or our club! At least this time he is leaving a club with a youngish squad, not a load of his normal 30+ has been journeymen he normal leaves teams with.Or Curtis boys not fit to tie decent players bootlaces!
