With the majority of the West Ham want-aways now out of the door, life seems so much sweeter on the training pitch merely judging from the endless supply of images of smiley happy players training in the middle of their four-wins -on-the-spin streak.
And who wouldn’t be happy now that chief agitator-want-aways Jean Clair Todibo, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan Bassaka are now some other Manager’s problem for the time being.
Whilst the trio did secure loans away, Edson Alvarez and Soungoutou Magassa failed with their own plans and are still at West Ham, seemingly showing contrition but remaining for the time being outside Nuno’s match day circle.
Double trouble – want away duo are out of sight and out of mind for a season, at least
West Ham’s captain took the opportunity live on Sky Sports last night to deliver some strong words of wisdom for several of his team mates who have been agitating for – and failing to secure- moves away from the club the summer.
Exuding a quiet air of leadership and loyalty to the club he clearly loves, Bowen responded to a question about rumours concerning those who’d been agitating for a move:
“I think the main message I try to get across to the group is ‘do everything right whilst you’re still representing this club’.
“If things don’t happen the way you want it to, if people wanted to leave and they didn’t leave, you can’t have any dirt on your face. Do the right things. You represent this club, this club pays your contract, so do the right things.”
About time somebody said it.
He may not be the blood and guts fist-pumping leader many of us recall and secretly yearn for when things aren’t going well, but Jarrod Bowen, by his effort results and commitment to West Ham has earned the right to say whatever he likes to those less committed to the claret and blue cause. They’d certainly do well to follow his example.
I’m from Australia been a Westham supporter for 52 years bleed claret and blue Westham till I die my 2 sons are hammers supporters as well so glad to see the players that wanted out are gone the new players that have come in want to play for the club and shirt Bowen is right in what he said great captain he’s Westham through and through, Come On You Irons.
Disloyalty will eat through stone or steel and besides players and club officials maintaining their Club allegiance supporters can be a negative factor as easily. The last 3 years took its toll on supporters near and far and thankfully it looks as if better days are on the horizon. Things change rather quickly in the life and times of WHU so enjoy our pleasures when they come. Always cherish those who try for Team and Club but remember what Jarrod has said loyalty is a two way street. Carry On You Irons.

There’s the sort of attitude we need. Well said Jarrod.
Personally I think as a club, we need to start showing players who is in control. If you agitate for a move by not playing or disrespecting the club in another way, and we don’t have to sell for financial reasons, let them rot. They made their beds, so they should lay in them. Make an example of them so other players in the future know that they cannot hold the club to ransom.
Anybody who is big enough to apologise should. be given the chance to play if there’s room for them.
Similar to Nuno many calling for his head but if he’s willing to admit his mistakes deserves another chance.
Areola, Soucek, Alvarez and Magassa are players all good enough to play.
Biggest problem is who drops out and what positions do they play.
Have no doubt Soucek will be back as soon as he’s fit which won’t be long.

Absoutely right Jarrod. We pay the wages. Im glad those players have gone and wish Alvarez & Magassa were gone too.
Last night showed we’ve got enough with that group, we dont need the disruptors back.
