David Gold tonight paid a special tribute to Michail Antonio who has shown a fantastic attitude since he first arrived at the club.
The chairman – admitting that today’s wasn’t too much of a spectacle – said: “Michail has been great since Day One. It was hard for him when he couldn’t get games.
“I had a number of chats telling him his chance would come, t be ready and he couldn’t have reacted better. He’s a great lad. To be honest we are blessed at the club right now because the dressing room has great lads. It’s a good place to be.
“When Michail’s chance arrived he grabbed it and has been an absolute revelation. It’s hardly surprising he has become such a huge fans’ favourite.
“He gives everything and today scored a special goal. Now it looks very much as though he will be called on to perform at right back again against Spurs on Wednesday evening and I have no doubt he will again give everything he has.
“I’m absolutely delighted for him and us that it’s worked out so well. His versatility is so important to us. He’s become a real utility player.”
I’m not too sure I would like to be called a utility player. It sounds too much like ‘ jack of all trades master of none ‘, and he sure ain’t that.
Read or ogbonna needs to play there and keep Antonio on the right , IMO,
We need lanzini and payets pumped up for Wednesday . Spuds won’t come for a point like today , more room will be available for the artists to work , noble will not need pumping up as he knows the score . Antonio has become a must start player , moses needs to take a leaf and give more defencively .
Antonio is a great player and seems to be a great lad. Love that Hammers squad so much: talent, togetherness, true team spirit. COYI!
He will play right back next game for sure,but I think Read will come in for Ogbonna,
Carroll will start with Lanzini and Payet and he will put Obiang or Song in as extra defence in midfield I think.
But that should allow both Cresswell and Antonio to get forward,
This will be a cracker and we need to be at our best to take any points,
But after today this the next biggest game of the season,

Can’t see Reid starting on Wednesday, Slav likes to reintroduce injuries gently, could see him coming on for Ginge in the second half if we’re doing well.
