Wenger breaks his Giroud “frustration” silence

|

GiroudArsene Wenger has broken his Olivier Giroud silence declaring the Gooners are going to need him next season.

But that will only herald a likely battle royal between the club and player over his future with the Hammers keen to prise him out of the Emirates.

Talks between the Hammers and agents are understood to have taken place as the 30 year old’s frustration over his position in north London have grown after he made just 11 appearances last season.

And he is believed keen on a move to the London Stadium where the Irons are ready to pay his £100k a week wages.

Wenger , however, could be upping the ante as the battle to grab the player intensifies and is quoted in the national press as saying: “It has been a frustrating season for him because he has not played a lot.

And when he has played well, he has not always played the next match. “He has won us a lot of points when he has come on because he has scored lots of times. He has qualities that our team need.”

The 30-year-old penned a new two-and-a-half deal with the Gunners in January.

You know me I don’t comment on transfer rumour but Giroud is my absolute favourite target and I’m hoping we get him. C’mon Sully.

Doesn’t sound like we will get him because Wenger uses him as his plan B maybe we can swap Carroll for him…

  • kevin says:

We wouldn’t want to lose Carroll , believe me . He would definitely come back to haunt us .
With the replacements in the medical staff , Carroll could still be phenomenal . Not to mention , Sakho . Two new signings right there without spending a penny .
The clamor to oust Carroll is a bit beyond me , when Bilic has said on numerous occasions that AC is very much in his plans . As for Giroud being better than Carroll I will hold my tongue . Carroll has scored in most games he has played , even coming off the bench .
A fit AC is a must for West Ham ., just as is also Sakho .
It makes me wonder how many fans put in a sick note to attend matches instead of working.
If you live in a glass house , don’t throw stones . The only thing Carroll & Sakho need to do is get fit and maintain a period of avoiding injury . Carroll has scored many important goals on the back of fans wanting him out , but cheer loudly when he scores …
    Hypocrisy in the extreme .

Not saying you are wrong Kevin but I would be very surprised if either of them ever play most of a season for any team.

No hypocrisy from me Kevin he’s a shower of ****e and scored 35 goals in 4 years and cost us a frigging fortune along the way 😀😀

He would need to be on the pitch before he can haunt us.I wouldnt put a big wager on that happening if the day every came we faced his new club.
I cheered everytime Iain Dowie scored it didnt mean i wanted him in the team….i suppose i was a hypocrite was i…pfff.

That’ll be wily old Wenger upping the transfer fee then. We never learn do we…we “leak” targets visa websites like this and then give everyone else a chance to then up the fee. Unlike Everton who just get on and do it without much talk. Every summer, the same old same old…

  • John says:

I don’t care if AC stays or not if I’m honest so long as we bring in a couple of top strikers like Giroud and another. I like AC but he is always injured if we weren’t he would be great as one of 3/4 strikers.

  • Tel Boy says:

It really is time to stop living in hope with ac.Its time to stop being deluded and face up to the reality.Something the club should have done long before now as far as im concerned.

  • mooro66uk says:

Don’t think the club has mentioned any targets. Anyone can print a name and say it was a leak from the club.

  • mooro66uk says:

Kevin, we all know how good AC could be if he could 1. get fit and 2. stay fit. But he can’t so what’s the point of repeating it ad nauseum. We need to move on and cut our losses. Don’t forget that while we’re waiting { how many seasons now} he is costing 80 odd grand a week. This is an absolutely ridiculous situation.

Stories are only ‘leaks” if you deciede to believe them. What they actually are in most cases are media specua!tion and conjecture lol
