Noble kept things secret

|

Mark-Noble-640914Mark Noble has revealed that he and the club kept his hernia problem a secret last season but is now looking forward to a top pre-season.

And it has now emerged from Mark that he played through the pain barrier until the last possible moment but has been working hard on his rehab and is looking forward to the resumption of pre-season training.

He told the official website:Β “I knew I had the hernias February time and me and the physios took it on ourselves not to say anything until the club was safe.

“It kept getting worse and worse and I went to see the surgeon before the Spurs game and he said ‘it’s urgent now, you need to have an operation.’

“Then we beat Spurs and were mathematically safe so it all worked out well.”

The captain also spoke of new signing Pablo Zabaleta saying:Β “He’s [Zabaleta]Β an all-round good fella,” Noble said.Β “I’ve spoken to him on text already and he’s really keen to meet the lads in pre-season.

So the club knew about it all along. I was under the impression from previous reports that Noble had kept it to himself.

I might be wrong Mark but I think that is what Noble is saying, the only people that knew about it were him and the physio’s, perhaps that is why Stijn bit the bullet who knows… Whatever the case Noble even when fully fit is not good defensively he never has been because he is a reactive player not a reader or anticipater of what is happening in front of him. He is also a pretty poor leader on the pitch and seems to get very little respect from referees, hopefully Zabaletta will become the Captain and we will sign another defensive midfielder that can pass, I think we have just lost one in Nordveit but as we never saw the best of him not much of a way of proving that.

lol I am surprised Bubbles hasn’t made a comment, he is Noble’s biggest fan. Maybe he is on his hols certainly good to take a break from the transfer window!

Can’t be nice playing football in pain & I would not want to be having those injections over a long period. Pain is the body’s way of telling you to take it easy. I know they are well paid, but that is just my take on it. I also know there are quite a lot of people on here who think he is past his sell by date. He deserves the chance to show what he can do when fully fit.

Bubbles is either on holiday or asleep , Stan . May well have turned off just like I intended to but didn’t .

  • GW says:

A fully fit Nobes, A fully fit Poppodom, A fully fit Sacko no point spending any money now that all our world class players could be making there triumphant returns πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

    • kevin says:

Let’s hope you are right , GW . I have the same dream . Reckon we’ll get a reality check at Old Trafford on day one . Or , maybe , Man Utd will .

      • GW says:

Kev was being sarky mate πŸ˜€ If we roll into Old Trafford with the Poppadom leading the line and Nobes passing it backwards and sideways with the occasional hoof forward I won’t be ****ing impressed 😀😀

        • Michael Miller says:

Poppadom?? Have I missed something – is this a new name for AC, just when I was getting used to China Doll – I can’t keep up!

  • kevin says:

Well maybe now with the physio situation changed we can expect our players to be performing at Thier physical peak . !!! . And , more consistently .
Don’t hold your breath is my advice . We will probably settle for less than Fit players at a cheap price or on loan . The big excuse of not being able to sign due to other Premiership clubs buisness’s is wearing thin . But , Noble is a mainstay for Me . Always giving it his all without complaint . Wish we had more like Him . Talent is not everything , it takes heart and courage to compete . WE DO NEED SOME TALENT THOUGH . No disrespect to Noble intended nor implied . With the right players in the squad he is irreplaceable . Not as quick as he once was but , his brain is fully turned on .

Dedication and commitment from noble. But shocking from the physiotherapist. As a physio you have a duty to your players health and feeding back information to the coaching staff, I cannot believe a physio would intentionally hide an injury shocking if this is true, and he deserves to be replaced. As a physio myself I find this unbelievable
