Moyes lays it on the line

|

David Moyes had made it clear that the next two games against Burnley and Southampton are about as critical as it gets.

Talking to the official site the manager said: “The next two games could define the season. We’ve got games now that we know we can get something from.

Before, I thought a point a game could get us to 40 points, as that was the old-fashioned figure, but we’re now finding we need to do more than that.

“We’re having to make sure we pick up points, but obviously the games are not easy against any of the teams, it doesn’t matter who you are playing.

“I like the message to be that we’re going to be fine, but the truth is we’re not fine yet. I want us to be positive and we are capable of winning games, but at the moment we have to find a way of not conceding goals.

“We have to give our attacking players the chance to win us games. We’re not fine yet, but I want us to be positive and look forward.

We have got a squad that can do it, but on Saturday we went without four big players, including two centre-halves. Angelo [Obgonna] was an illness, so he shouldn’t be out too long. Ginge [James Collins] felt a bit of tightness in his hamstring during the week, so that made it a little bit difficult.”

Keep digging in lads, a lose is a lose …we move on with some crucial games coming up I’m sure we’ll get a couple of wins somehow ….the league is always like this come this time of year unfortunately we’re in the mire aswell …but we’re used to this pressure ….keep the faith and do major squad overhaul in the summeright. Those that need to go should be shown the door and bring in some fresh blood to invigorate the squad …ONWARDS AND UPWARDS…..

We have been in this situation for as many times as I can remember , Hammerintheblood .
As you say , ; we are used to it ,,, wouldn’t it be nice to get unused to it at some stage ? .
I keep hoping every season will see a different West Ham but. , it doesn’t happen . We are always hovering between 1st & 2nd devision . We need something to happen and maybe if Moyes is given the chance he deserves we can look back and say ; wow thank god that’s over and look forward to making a challenge . The New Stadium , given a chance with a few upgrades and a Team with the will to fight should in my opinion see us competing at the top end of the division instead of looking over our shoulders . Moyes deserves it , we deserve it and the club deserves it .

I wish we could beat Burnley but I doubt it. Hence we need to win Southampton and the Stoke game. Perhaps collect a point against Leicester and Everton and than pray it is enough to stay up.

If we go down which is likely I hope Moyes stays and builds a fresh youg team eager to go up.

If only we didn’t keep having so many injuries ! . Drawing every game is better than Win , lose , win ; as Sir Trevor would say . We must average at least 8 points over the next nine games to even consider safety . Down to the wire as we have seen all to often over the years regardless of Upton Park or anywhere else . We need that Win Mentality that is always seemingly lacking . …. why ? ,, don’t know ,, but it’s lacking . We must stay in the Premiership and give Moyes a chance to Build a team worthy of the Premiership.
I think we can reach safety but it’s going to be a very nervous ride from here on in . It is paramount that we support the team , no matter who is fit to play .. encouragement supplies the backbone and will of any worker . Footballer or otherwise . No encouragement = no will to carry on ,,,, simple . That’s life in a nutshell .

We will get 3 points against Burnley guaranteed. I know this for a fact, because I want it to happen. I’m pretty sure it works like that :-S

Been a fan for many , many years . I was 5 years old when my Grandfather took me to see West Ham v Fulham .

    • It’s what it says: Awaiting moderation. There has been some disgusting language, libelous remarks passed and I and my solicitor had a meet and I was told to moderate. That’s all mate

Fair enough . Thanks for the honesty , Hugh .
If I made any “ Libelous “ remarks and or comments nobody at any stage on this forum has advised me of it or commented on it . ( sorry if that is the case ) There have been people on here who have abused me and even used my name as a reference for abuse . Naturally I have responded at times ., but seeing my name used as a reference for Bad Things and general Group **** taking is , as you can imagine , extremely annoying and in my opinion Libelous towards me . Happily you have binned them . But for future reference and to avoid Solicitation
Please consider me a fan . Thanks for being honest ,. Please then , stop moderating me as I am feeling targeted .
