Striker drops out of squad after knee injury

|

Javier Hernandez has not travelled with the first team squad to Leicester after suffering a knee injury.

David Moyes made no mention of striker’s injury while he confirmed that Andy Carroll will be part of West Ham matchday squad during his press conference at Rush Green this morning. The manager admitted that Pedro Obiang and James Collins both need more time on the training pitch before they can be considered for Premier League football again but didn’t discuss Hernandez.

Social media account revealed on Twitter this evening “We can confirm that Javier (Chicharito) Hernández has not travelled & is not in the squad to face Leicester city, due to a knee injury that has troubled him since Thursday.”

West Ham will be without long-term absentees Winston Reid (knee), Sam Byram (ankle) and Michail Antonio (hamstring) on Saturday.

We are in huge trouble now. I just can’t see Moyes changing his negative approach. This is what you get when you go with a cheap option (he should never have been appointed). He is bringing us to the championship and the owners cannot see it. If he starts Hart tomorrow and plays with a defensive approach then he should be sacked before the united game. He is terrible as is Pearce. I genuinely fear we are going down. Moyes is a fool in that he keeps saying we will be fine, it was the same in his last job. Terrible times ahead for my beloved club.

Sadly, I agree with you concerning Moyes..
While he steadied the ship, he has an overall winning percentage of 21%, worse than Zola, Roedder, and even Avram Grant.
Initially, after some further reading I felt that maybe Moyes had the imagination and creativity that the club needed. Sadly, I was wrong; poor formations, poor player selection, and poor player management (after the Rice and Lanzini). I think that Terry Westley would be a better care-taker manager while we look for someone better. Moyes might do well at Milwall!!

Moyes is incompetent but the article was about Hernandez who is also incompetent . He certainly didn’t get injured when he came on last week as he hardly touched the ball and certainly did not break sweat . Carroll’s injury problems have been awful for the club but he should have been the one coming on last week , not sweetpea . COYI

Would prefer to see Carroll play any day, Hernandez body language and lack of effort last week was a disgrace.Carroll was fined and hauled over the coals because he did not come on last week and walked away.(at least he wants to play).

    Yawn.
I suspect he is not injured, merely”injured”.
