Fredericks gets 200pc rise with Irons

|

Ryan Fredericks will get a 200 per cent rise in wages when he joins West Ham next week as he lands a £50k a week deal with the club.

ClaretandHugh has learned the super quick right back was on a Championship level wage of £15k a week at Fulham and that the Cottagers were not prepared to take him up to the £40k a week he wanted and which they pay to top earner Tom Cairney.

However, Fredericks will now surpass the midfielder by around £10k a week when he finally puts pen to paper which is expected  to happen on Monday when he holds formal talks after retrning from Las Vegas where he and the remainder of the Fulham squad have been celebrating promotion on a club break.

Fredericks will sign a four year deal with the Hammers but reports that he has already signed for the club are wrong and the formalities are confidently expected to have been completed by Monday.

Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned, to give this guy 50K a week is just crazy he is barely worth what he is on. If Sullivan thinks this is the signing to move us up the table well he fooling himself. I don’t even like his attitude, I would say he is no better than Jenkinson or Byran. I would urge all fans to hold off on renewing season tickets if this is what we are being asked to watch this year. No imagainiation here again and I am sure this is Sullivan all over again. Sad day for the hammers when we sign this guy, who will milk every one of those 4 years out of that contract – what a shocking waste of our money.

Sorry John, but that is a load of b*llocks. Is he going to set the league on fire? Most likely not, but he is a great player that could easily fit into most premier league sides. The fact that this is a free signing doesn’t mean the board are being cheap or deceiving us, they have managed a great bargain considering that there are a number of other positions that are more important for us to spend for. Why waste half our transfer budget on a right back who would most likely only be marginally better?

Very existed, Ryan Fredericks is a great signing.
I reckon he will be worth 20-25m by end of the season.

Young and has pace, very influential for Fulham this season. Who have been playing great football, top scores in the championship. No Fulham fan will want him to leave.

I can’t agree with Johnham, this is a very astute signing. £50k a week wages is nothing these days and when you get a player on a free, his wages over 4yrs of his contract works out to £10m. Where are you gonna get a top young & talented RWB for that money these days??
Wish him all the best and hopefully Pellegrini will make him even better than he already is.

Have not seen enough myself to judge. Looks a lot of money & we are one of the higher paying clubs. That’s ok but what we have not managed up to now is to get the points/performances the wage bill would predict. Let’s hope that changes now. He is young & Zabaleta can’t have much left in him. As a free transfer I think I would give a cautious thumbs up. One down, how many to go? Four at least…
