Fixtures day looms this week

|

If West Ham fans needed any reminder of how close the season is drawing they need only remember that the Premier League fixtures for the new season are published on Thursday.

There has of course been the normal fake fixture news but the 14th is the date when all will be revealed and we will be carrying details of the Hammers opening and key fixtures throughout the campaign.

It will also be covered extensively on Sky and the other broadcasting channels as teams and fans start to feel the excitement of a new season  which will kick off on August 11.

However the fixtures work out this time around we will be hoping for a far superior start to 2017/18 when the club started off with three away defeats.

Meanwhile the World Cup will keep us occupied for a while and that too kicks off on Thursday when the Russians meeting Saudi Arabia.

England play their first game against Tunisia next Monday with the game being broadcast on BBC

‘Hoping for a far superior start to 2017/18’. I will drink to that 😃😃 This is imo a very important season for us. Another bad season & we are firmly established as PL strugglers at best. One good season won’t prove much (remember 2015/16) but it might signal the start of something. If we see Pellegrini make his mark & lay down some foundations. If we see some decent players join us. If we see the owners following through on their promised reforms to recruitment & a lot of other things. If we finally see journalists starting of football their articles with references to some good football from the home side at the LS rather than the usual stuff about fan discontent, sterile atmosphere blah bloody blah. A lot of ‘ifs’……we can but dream.
